And in the end, when they’re all standing over her they’ll ask,
"What happened to her?"
And some will answer the depression, the anxiety.
But no one will ask the most important question, “Who helped her?”
Because they all know no one really did. They could name off the doctors they took her to, the medications, the hours of therapy. But it wasn’t what she needed. She was screaming for help and no one did listen.
Because no one really thought it was that bad.
"It was hormones"
"She’s a little dramatic"
"It’s not really an illness though."
"We did all we could."
All while she was drowning and sinking further and further from the surface every. Single. Day.
